Anyway, if people can perhaps reply here with info on different receivers, I can add that info to the list.

I read all the time where people post what tuner/demod is used by different STBs, but this info is seldom listed in the receiver specs, and I haven't been successful finding posts of the info via google or searching on this site, so I'm not sure how to find the info for sure. I wasn't sure if that was maybe the demod chip or something else, but it didn't have a number that I recognized either. There was also a chip, just next to the tuner can on the motherboard. It had one chip inside that had a brand symbol that looked like concentric 'C's. The tuner can said TDQR-C003F 711A1601, but I don't know if that's the number we're interested in or not. It did seem to be an LG tuner, but none of the numbers I saw on either the can or chips seemed to be similar to any of the chips used in the computer tuners. That wiki is good for the computer receivers, but obviously doesn't have info for what tuners/demods are in the various STBs? I even took the motherboard out of an old broken CS8100, and took the cover off the tuner can, but couldn't figure out what chipsets were being used. I've attached the very preliminary list below, just to show what I'm trying to do.

Anyway, starting with that wiki, I started putting together an Excel sheet with the tuner/demod and other info for several receivers, thinking that it may come in handy when evaluating performance differences between receivers.ĩ1086 Products - dongle satellite receiver to watch amazon tv channels The Chip:ALi 3329 Software functions introduction:Support sun+ DVB-S FTA Support USB. The nice part about the wiki, is if there's something to add we can all contribute to the documentation.
